27 July 2014 Pre Raya MTB de Seremban

3rd ride in  cviewecutive weeks!  Bravo to all that turn up for the ride.
As usual,  there was a pre ride briefing which discussing the ride plan and casual conversation.
Ride day, 0600 fueling session.  Breakfast at the most famous Sar - Hor - Fun near yellow bus stop. As we are living in a multi race country, we support 1 Malaysia concept. Some of us prefer the delicious Indian crushine near the starting point.
While many applied the moto learned from our scouting daysb- Be Prepared.  They arrived early for the gear up section,  pre-check bikes prior roll out.

--Regular check to prevent mechanical breakdown.
Spare tube- only 1pc tube 27.5?
Pump- ok
Route as few section rider miss-
Trail marking if the rider is far ahead. 1st rider in front, should wait for regroup if do not know the way. Minimise time for the SAR effort . (search and rescue)
Drinking water-
Bring extra instead of "just nice"
Food: for certain unforeseen circumstances that causes longer ride time, bring some food. Just in case. For e.g choc bars or gel (light weight).
Safety- no helmet no ride. Spare helmet available. But he/she will take the bill for "after ride" as payment for the helmet rental. Ok?
On the road: "try" to ride in a group or pace line. Speeding is permitted.  Chase group (single file format) should aware  traffic from the back. Learn to pace yourself.
Overall Fitness: is improving. We are improving & shorter regroup time. Good!  Riders are encourage for self-practice on weekdays. Recommended 1-2 times on weekdays. When fitness gained, we cruise longer & more fun! And still back to family in time.
Overall.... everybody enjoy! Like it if you enjoy reading.

Words of encouragement: Come join us in next ride. As said

20 July 2014 MTB de Seremban version "The Tower"

Was nearly a missed MTB ride today. The iPhone alarm was actually disabled.  Luckily the small doggy did bark at 620am sharp tgat wakes me up.
No group breakfast at Sar-hor-fun near the old Yellow Bus Station. Just 2 small Gardenia breads prior ride.
This morning recorded the most turn up - 15 riders.  Including the rider with virgin ride, Mr 67er.
The route is almost same like previous version, but added a climb of 2km stretch leading to the top where it is a telecommunication tower, we call it "The Tower".
The climb is technical to many of us as the ascent is consistent with gravel trail. Pushing too hard maybe tyre slippage,  easy pedalling maybe losing momentum and cause low cadence,  eventually muscle fatigue or cramped.
Though noy all make it to the top, but with the consistency of the weekly rides, sooner or later, all will be able to make it to the top regardless of ride or push.
As many things in life, after all the obstacles (climbinh), always ended with rewarding moments (downhill). Long stretch of down hill is where you feel the hard work is well spent.
On the way out, we rerouted to a single trail ride with mostly flat & fast course.
Overall, the ride is 18km+, but with high intensity (The Tower's climb). Next ride, will expect bigger turn up and more riders shall conquered the "The Tower"...
Mr Victor pacing a newbie up a sloop.

1st re-group session. Time for 5-min break

2nd re-group point, bigger group... 15 MTBer (including the photographer)

2nd re-group point, official photographer. This time round he is with a pouch. Why?

Magnificent view from the top of "The Tower". Those that missed, climber harder. It is worth the pain for it!

Road of heaven.... Peaceful trail awaiting the MTBer... it maybe Road-To-Holland to those can't make it :-p

Torch of hope sunshining on this happy rider...

Rider of the day. An animal-turned MTBer aka The Snake... on it's way to the summit.

Riders arriving with joy.

Smile of satisfaction.

Riders coming in... But where is Ben's bike????

Hahaha... This is still consider COMPLETE.. Good job Paul!

Por-Rider (Pro) is taking a short break before attacking his main rival... Mr Kenny aka V-Zhai

Road specific helmet with retractable lens that the same technologies used by the helicopter fighter (not confirmed). Now used in the trail.

Satisfied riders on it's way home.

Good ride.

We are expecting more riders in coming weeks. Namely... TJ with virgin bike, Tall Ming with virgin bike, Dai Man with virgin bike & etc...... Stay tuned
