"Merdeka" season

Just sent out several "deka" phrases this morning.  It ended up with a lot more of "Deka" phrases that you & me can imagine.  In cantonese, "Mai Tit Ka" ("almost the same pronounciation as Merdeka in Cantonese) means rice dropped price.  This has been shouting by jokers for years.  But, there are actually a lot more than you can imagine.  Check this out.

  • MaiDeKa = Rice dropped Price
  • CheDeKa = Car dropped price
  • OilDeKa = Oil dropped price
  • HoliDeka - Jian Xiang
  • AllDeka
  • SemuaDeka - Kevin Chan
  • NoDeka - Teck Kheng
Anyhow, it is fun to be "Deka", tomorrow is Public Holiday in Malaysia, let's shout the correct "Deka" 3 times!  Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka!

(You should shout it by posting comment!)

Merdeka! x 3

Jalur Gemilang

"Tanggal tiga puluh satu, bulan lapan, lima puluh tujuh...." a famous song that will broadcast across the country during these time.

Today is Malaysia Nationa Day's eve, the whole nation is preparing for the celebrations and also this is the moment to educate/remind the people how difficult it is before we achieve freedom, we should appreciate the peace & harmony among all the races within a country. Proud to be Malaysian.

Happy birthday Malaysia, Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka

Space Dream

It has been hot news about the Malaysian government is sending the first Malaysian to space in 2007.  Now, the story goes back in 2003, I accidentally came across the First Malaysian Astronaut program.   I was so excited and quickly register my application via the Agency's website.

Months of waiting, there isn't any news/updates from the agency, eventually my dream to fly is being diminished until recently I received an email from the Malaysian Space Agency office 2 weeks ago.  Among the 800+ short listed candidates, I'm so happy to be one of them!!!

The selection program kicked off a physical selection where candidates required to run 3.5KM within 20mins.  Followed up with series of medical check-ups.  According to the local news, the first round of selection held on the 27th Aug 2005, where only 30 odd candidates turn up.  The 2nd round will be on the 3rd of Sept where the remaining candidates (including myself) will compete in various places simultaneously.

I will update more in this section after my selection round.   I'm looking forward for this coming Saturday.  I'm so excited now!

Deep Blue Sea

29th July 2005, 2 days 2 nights of scuba diving . 2 hours speed boat ride from a fishing village located at the borders of Pahang & Johore. Weather wasn't that good, sea condition was not really nice with choppy surface. Current was mild too. Most of the divers suffered during the boat ride to the dive site. Some even vomit due to the rough ocean.

10 divers including me, 30+ air tanks, foods & beverages on a twin 2 strokes 400 horse powers engine installed on 30 footer boat. She is a speedy demon! Low noise, comfort seats, but a big drinker though. According to the owner, she drinks 1 gallon per mile!!! The cost for 2 ways is approximately RM400++ of fuel.

Alrite, below are the pictures taken during the dive. Hope you all enjoy it. If you all are interested, get certified to be a diver, & experience the real water world. Let see how fragile of these sea lifes, it is our responsibility to protect them, we must leave all these to our anak-anak & cucu cucu. Al right, show time.
