The World Most Dangerous Sports

| |
Just read some articles on the title <<The World's Most Dangerous Sports>>. Out of the it, 1 of them i'm doing now - Scuba Diving.  While there are several sports I intented to do in coming future Cave & Free Diving. I'm wondering my current insurance will covers me of all these activities.

Well I think i must clarify that doing Scuba Diving is much much more safer than driving car / riding motorcycle / walking in our federal roads/highways.  Just have a look the fatal road accidents during the recent holidays, the death toll is much more higher than the Scuba Diving accident happened in WORLDWIDE.  Probably less than 1%.  We should add one more item..  DRIVING is one of <<The World's Most Dangerous Activities>>.  hahaha

As Scuba Diving is defined as one of <<The World's Most Dangerous Sports>>, divers even to pay extra precautions while doing it. Prior the certification, diver needs to undergo courses on the theory of scuba diving, understanding of gears, hand signals, possible dangers, and etc. Frankly speaking, it is quite easy to obtain a basic diving license.  But whether the diver really absorb what he/she has learned, that's vary.  Scuba diving is almost the same environment compare to an astronaut in the space.  No air, can't speak & no emergency exit.  When something happens, a diver have to based on what he/she has learned to overcome it / to minimise the risk -> zero risk.

So, how do you define dangerous?   High risk activities?   Crossing street, riding motorcycle, driving a car, cooking in the kitchen, swimming, ......  Do you think these activities are safe?  Cars might bang you as you walking or riding, on the other hand you might bang others while you are driving.  Let's minimize it.  Then insurers will be happy to insure us.  Cheers!

The Presidential Ride 2005

13th Nov 2005. This is not a MTB race, but an remarkable event for the MTB community in Klang Valley. There are approximately 500 cyclists (according to the event's official). In actual fact, the 3 lanes + 1 motor lane of Kajang highway has been flooded by these cyclists for 400m in that morning! Just imagine the actual number. I did not capture the moment that time as I'm also one of the cyclist in action. So it will be dangerous to stopby and snap pictures. What a miss :-s

The overall ride was fantanstic as it covered steep long uphills, speedy downhills, & some flat though, not much technical trail in this ride, so it is cater for all-level of MTBer. One part to notice is the donwhill on a cemented trail. With just less than 1 feet width of the trail, riders have to actually jam their brakes to get down slowly. It is quite a dangerous area. Thankfully, riders all decented in 1 piece!

There are 4 checkpoints to be passed in order to claim the fininsher title. So riders have to get their ride passport stamped at each checkpoint. Besides, checkpoints are also the food station where riders replenish their water & stuff their "fuel tank" (stomach) there, and also a hang out station for riders to get rested before heading to the next stop. The best part of the ride is at the CP3 where the food station just next to the cooling water fall. Riders enjoy the delicious nasi lemak, sanwiches, fruits & 200Plus (sorry, no advertisement fee paid.. haha).

60km off road riding is not really an easy thing, especially with those Super Devil Steep Uphill, the exposed trail where riding below the Extreme Hot Sun. Though there are many barriers or some -ve factors may cause you to ride into the Chicken Loop (an exit point to end the ride unofficially). BUT once you have go thru all these & reach to the fininshing point, the reward is extremely high. I'm Lovin' It.
I had posted some pictures to be shared with you. All are welcomed. The more the merrier. Do drop your words about this pics. Stay Fit & Enjoy!

** Thumbs up for the organiser & sponsors that make this event a success one!

Rush Dive - Last diving trip of 2005

2005's Deepavali, public holiday in Malaysia, it was a last dive trip in 2005. Reason being is because of moonsoon period in East Coast of Malaysia is happening now! Amazingly, the ocean is calm, even as calm as we were in the fishing lake! So it was perfect weather for diving!

It was actually a hunting trip. I had finally experienced the feel of hunting fish. Probably this is the "feel" that got addicted to some divers.
